GED
Program
Withlacoochee Technical Institute offers a variety of programs for students and community members to obtain their GED. Testing space is limited and applicants are accepted on a "first come basis".
Requirements
Must be 18 years or older; you must take a TABE (Test of Adult Basic
Education) or have a current TABE score (within the last year). Practice test
available on
Florida DOE site.

Registration
The registration process for GED consists of:
| • | Completing an application form. |
| • | As of July 1, 2011, payment of a $15 application fee UNLESS the student plans to attend GED orientation and take the GED exam only. |
| • | If the student plans to take the TABE (recommended as a gauge of potential success on the GED exam), attend orientation, and take the GED exam, the $15 application fee must be paid. |
This process must be completed before enrollment.

Testing
| • | All students need to attend an orientation in order to sign up for the exam. |
| • | Students must be at least 18 years of age or have previous permission in order to take the GED exam. |
| • | Testing requires 9 hours total, 4.5 hours each day for 2 consecutive days |
| • | Students need to bring a government issued photo ID, social security card, and $70 testing fee to orientation. |
| • | Payment for test is due at time of orientation. |
| • | Students that are retesting need to bring copies of previous GED scores to orientation. |
| • | Requests for special accommodations need to be made at least 6 weeks in advance and documentation of need for accommodations will be required. Please contact Student Services at 726-2430 x 4326 for these accommodations. |

room 118.
